Outdoor - 8:00 AM Saturday March 7, 2009 to noon Sunday March 8, 2009 - Camp Verdugo Oaks

Prerequisites: Outing Awareness

Personal Equipment: Silva type Compass plus Pen or pencil and paper. For the outdoor session, you will also need basic gear for a short overnight backpack/campout.

Course Description: This course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills that Scouting leaders need to lead all lengths of backpacking outings. In addition to supplemental information in the areas already covered, the course includes material on trail profile, leadership, equipment care and an introduction to Wilderness First Aid Basics.
