Camp Verdugo Pool Use Policies

For any unit activity, the unit must adhere to all of the policies and procedures in the BSA’s Safe Swim Defense program. Additionally, each unit using the pool must fill out the Hold-Harmless Agreement in the Camp Booklet.

The practical application of this policy is that unit leaders of the BSA can use the pool at CVO as long as they are in compliance with the Safe Swim Defense Program, and no longer require a certified Lifeguard to use the pool. This brings the camp policy into alignment with that of all other BSA aquatics activity.

The policy for district and council events, as well as those of outside groups, remains unchanged. The policies for these groups remain as follows:

For District or Council Events, a Certified Adult BSA Lifeguard, or Red Cross Equivalent, must be on site during the activity.  All BSA policies and regulations must be enforced and/or adhered to, including, but not limited to, Safe Swim Defense.

All outside groups must have a Certified Adult BSA Lifeguard, or Red Cross Equivalent, on site during the activity.  All BSA policies and regulations must be enforced and/or adhered to, including, but not limited to, Safe Swim Defense.  Also, the Hold-Harmless Agreement in the Camp Booklet must be filled out by the group.
